Andrzej Marjański, professor UoSS, PhD of management sciences, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses at the University of Social Sciences in Łódź, Poland. Vice Dean for Research and Doctoral Degree. 

His scientific interests and activity as an expert concentrate on the issues of family enterprises, development strategies, entrepreneurship and management of small and medium-sized enterprises. He participated in several research projects and worked as an expert in the committees for evaluation of economic projects. His expertise includes also the issues of national security, especially in the field of rescue and crisis management.

Since 2011, he has been chairing the Family Businesses scientific conference, organized by the Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses Chair of the University of Social Sciences in Łódź. He was the scientific coordinator in the Pentor research project for the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the vice-chairman of the Program Council and an expert in the PARP-IFR Family Business Training and Consulting Project. He implemented the international cycle "Business Transfer Programme" for family businesses undergoing the process of succession. Expert in the project "Succession Guide in Family Companies". He advises family businesses in the implementation of development strategies and succession. He participates in the work of the "Forum of Organizations of Family Businesses" of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.

Member of IFERA - International Family Enterprise Research Academy, International Atlantic Economic Society (USA), Polish Economic Society, National Entrepreneurship Council at the Ministry of Economy (2013-2015) and the Family Business Initiative Association.

The author, co-author and editor of over 100 publications on management, succession and development strategy in family businesses and management of small and medium-sized enterprises, including the book "Family businesses - how to achieve success in the relay of generations" (Poltext, 2009,2011). His achievements include also a number of publications related to security and crisis management.

He is the content editor in the periodicals 'Entrepreneurship and Management', 'Journal of Intercultural Management', and 'International Journal of Small and Medium Enterprises and Business Sustainability' (Indonesia). He is a reviewer in several Polish and foreign scientific journals. He participates in the works of scientific committees of several conferences.
